Book of Light version 5.0

Thursday, February 1st, 2007

This is a gigantic update to the Book of Light. Not only have almost 50 new pages been added and existing information expanded, but Chapter V Deities, Heroes & Myths, a new chapter devoted to pantheons of ancient deities, heroes and cultural myths, has been created.

During the revamp of the Book of Light, we decided to integrate the material from Quarters Pagan Journal and to place QPJ on hiatus for the moment, it will be back in a new incarnation.

The entire layout has also been redesigned to increase legibility and to make navigation through the chapters easier. All secondary level pages are now listed in the left menu once the parent pages has been opened so visitors can navigate around the entire chapter with ease. Search options have been improved and a search feature has been added to the Traditions & Systems section of Chapter XII Magic & Ritual.

The Bibliography and Recommended Reading page has been seperated into categories to make finding just the right book easier. A few book reviews have been added too with more to come soon.

A Feedback feature has also been added to certain articles because we would like to hear your opinions, concerns or questions.

It was a boatload of work, but I think it was worth it and hope you do too. Check out the full list of new pages.

Thursday, February 1st, 2007

Helikas Web Development Helikas Web Development was never intended to be a money-making venture. Instead of going into our pockets, all profits from Helikas are donated to various charitable organizations.

In 2006, our first full year online, donations were made to:

Sierra Club
Black Hills Wild Horse Sanctuary
The Witches Voice (Witchvox)

A donation in the name of our new rescue kitty, Soleil was made to Arizona Animal Welfare League thanks to profits from Helikas

Profits from 2006 also enabled us to make the following donations in January 2007:

Earth Justice
World Wildlife Fund

We look forward to continuing to make donations to improve the world we live in and we sincerely thank all Helikas customers for their support.

What is WebWeaver?

Thursday, February 1st, 2007

With over 1850 links in its directory, WebWeaver Pagan Search is the largest, human edited, pagan search engine on the net today. It was born out of a desire to fill the gap left when so many large pagan and occult oriented search engines closed down. It does not use a Google API, it is not a cms plug in; it was created entirely from the ground up.

Arachne, our head weaver, strives to maintain the integrity of her links by periodically check link validity and weeding out dead and broken links.
